There are some timid, shy people who find it rather intimidating to open chat with new singles; they typically need additional time to adjust to the situation. An uncomplicated convenient answer for them might be to go out on a first date to the movies, hence to get used to the presence of the new date, without the obligation to talk.
When they get out of the cinema, they may then talk about the film they just watched.
Another way to deal with this scenario, if you’re shy about starting a conversation, is to ask your date about themself. It will show that you are interested in learning about him/her, as well as remove part of the pressure of talking off you until you are more comfortable around your date. By making them do the talk you may feel less stressed and eventually you will have relaxed adequately to talk about yourself.
One other way to go about this is to shift focus to the other person. It will interest you to know that a lot of people find it easy to talk about themselves, therefore, what they would like the most is someone that would calmly listen to their tale attentively. In this regard, if you are a good listener you will find a lot of people feel most at ease with you.
Remember, you should do anything you can to put your shyness in the corner, otherwise it will box you in a corner first…
